I don't think America could have done more to stop the atrocities of the Holocaust because America wasn't getting the the real story. The information given to the American Press was censored. THe Nazi Party also confused America by releasing information that victims were being relocated to work camps in order to resettle in a new area. They never released information how they worked them all day and tortured the prisoners. Many believed the media would tell horrifying stories such as killing and violence to away neutral opion and led to disbelief of Americans. With the Nazis confusing the public, America didn't know who to believe was telling the truth. Maybe if America would have looked into it, they could have been more involved to stop it.
When the United States entered by helping the Holocaust they were too late. The Americans wanted to isolate themselves from war and tried to ignore it but then finally started to help at the end after millions of people had died. The Holocaust was a sad sight and no one should be tortured even if their doing a job, even if they did nothing wrong. Im glad its over and it shouldn't happen again to anyone. Justin Grebloski
America was one of the most powerful nations in the world at this time, economically, politically and socially. It was a model for democracy, success and freedom. But America had adopted a policy of Isolationism after WWI, this prevented involvement in other country’s conflicts. Because of this America sat in silence, also we weren’t informed of the truth. The press was censored. The Nazi’s were telling the world that the Jews were being put into camps to work, and to being relocated, not killed and tortured. The media was blamed for telling horror stories, and American didn’t know what to believe. I don’t know what could have been done, but I do believe the government was hiding some facts, until a time they felt was right to tell the public. America sat in silence during the Holocaust until we entered the war. Jessica Gregis
i don't think that there was more that America could have done. they didn't know what all was going on. they weren't given enough information, or even the right information. so that had a lot to do with why we counldn't. i feel that the Holocaust was horrible. what Hitler did to the jewish people was just terrible. just because they didn't worship like he did, doesn't mean they had to suffer. the Holocaust was horrible, and Hitler was a horid person. Brandyn Coleman
I think america could have easily helped stop the germans. America had waited to long untill Hitler was powerful enough to be easily defeated. If america (or any 3rd party country) had acted faster, the Holocaust may have not have even been so terrible. the death rate could have been 1\16th of the jews that were killed. For ever person saved makes a difference.
I think the americans could have stopped the germans if they wanted to but they didnt want to get involved in the war. Until december 7th when the japanese bombed Pearl harbor taking out our naval fleet brought the united nations into the war and got victory.
Yes i think they couldve done more to stop the atrocites. they couldve found the concentration camps faster and rescue them and also if we would have joined the war earlier we would have been able to defeat the germans sooner and free the people sooner.because im sure we knew ther was something going on over there
I think that America couldve done a lot more to stop the crimes. The government could have forced them to shut down the camps because its not like we didnt know what was going on, we did, its just no one really took action until it was close to the end of the war.
I think the americans could def of done more, they def knew what was going on, and yet they stood still,I feel really terrible when i think of the holocost, america shouldnt of let it happen
